What are some challenges you face as an immigrant and POC?

Adjusting to the lifestyle, people, and the ways of living here. Trying to make it feel like home.

Do you think there is such thing as “white privilege”?

Yes. They get benefits that we people of color don’t…like they are placed on priority list for anything. Socially, people treat them better because they “ruled” the world in the past, and that priority and status still exists.

If you could give an advice to your people, what would it be?

It depends on a minority. If it’s African-American, take advantage of education. Especially, for college diversity–like affirmative action–they want African-American population, so take advantage of that. And as for Indians, go where Indians have good reputation in their industries; make good connections with them.

If you could change America’s perspective on immigration, what would it be?

Stop complaining that people take jobs away from the citizens. Also, work on a project that highlights all the successful immigrants that came to America. We shouldn’t reject immigrants because all the American people were immigrants at one point.

What makes you happy?

Everybody that’s happy. Humanity back in action; people caring for others and trying to maintain something good.
