This ordinary has been interviewed before. But this time, it’s about films.
What is a life-changing movie that you’ve seen?
Happiness. It’s a dark comedy film about three sisters. It shows different lives of each one…it shows that no one’s life is perfect and that there will always be something that he or she wants from another person.
What is it about films that makes it so special compared to other arts?
Like films versus book, when you read a book you think or perceive it based on your experiences. But for movies, you look through a director’s point of view and your interpretations can be explored. For example, some people may think and illustrate a character based on his or her point of view, but a movie can change that.
What are three most important things in movies?
Dialogue, character development, and the ending.
If you could direct a movie right now, what would it be about?
Last night, I was at an art museum, and there was this guy in the corner, playing a bassoon. People were around him, looking and observing. So it would be about an artist who actually hates art but makes money off of it. And it will show how some people mock art and some are obsessed.
If you could swap lives with a movie character, who would it be?
Summer from 500 Days of Summer.
What is your favorite quote from a movie?
“Rudeness is merely an expression of fear; people fear they won’t get what they want. The most dreadful and unattractive person only needs to be loved and they will open up like a flower.” –Monsieur Gustave (Grand Budapest Hotel)
